For over 100 years Yosemite National Park has benefited from the concern, care and philanthropy of dedicated individuals. No one better represented this personal affinity for Yosemite than John Muir. His eloquent descriptions, passionate pleas and circle of friends helped create Yosemite National Park and provided a level of care that could not be achieved in any other way.
Benefits of Participation and Tokens of Appreciation
The most valuable benefit of participating in the John Muir Heritage Society is learning first hand how gifts are benefiting Yosemite. At Society events, donors visit park projects to see how their gifts are being put to work in Yosemite, meet with Park officials to discuss projects and exchange ideas and develop a closer connection to the park.
Protector ($1,000) benefits include:
- Invitations to Society events at the Ahwahnee Hotel and other special events throughout the year
- Name listing on the Honor Wall at the Valley Visitor Center and in the Fund's annual report
- A twelve-month Yosemite Park Pass (IRS value: $40)
Guardian ($2,500) benefits include all of the above Protector benefits plus:
- Twelve-month National Parks Entrance Pass (IRS value: $65)
- Invitation to summer high country outing
Sentinel ($5,000) benefits include all of the above Guardian Benefits plus:
- Ansel Adams Special Edition photograph (unframed, IRS value: $150)
- Invitation to additional Yosemite-related event
Benefactor ($10,000) benefits include all of the above Sentinel benefits plus:
- Invitation to intimate Sierra Nevada trip
- Choice of premier Yosemite photograph (IRS value: varies)
Note: Participants are required to cover the costs associated with certain Society events.
